Binnie A. Dansby: A Portrait

Many of us have known Binnie Dansby since her enthusiastic

presentation on waterbirth at the 1st International Congress of 

Pre- and Perinatal Psychology in Toronto in 1983. Binnie had been 

present in October 1980 to support the first waterbirth in the 

United States and (footnote on history) I had also lent support to this 

mother by doing birth clearing using a process taught by obstetrician

David Cheek.

 Binnie studied rebirthing with Leonard Orr in 1975, hypnotherapy 

with Joseph Spear, M.D. and became a devoted student of Mikael 

Aivanhov and the Course in Miracles. Since 1980 she has prepared 

countless women for natural childbirth, waterbirth, and offered breathwork 

training in North America, Europe, Israel and Indonesia. From 1986 to 1994 

she produced a series of five audio tapes for pregnant women.

  Now we have the culmination of 25 years of work in the 2000 production of the 

CD-ROM "Ecstatic Birth" a multi-media, interactional presentation on natural birth. 

Inspirational and instructive, the many beautiful scenes of birth provide compelling 

testimony to the real possibility of ecstatic birth and how to achieve it.  The artistic 

production weaves together a distinctive sound track with wise quotations from leaders
